Melissa Kerkhove was born on July 28th 2004. The first six months of her life she had very little development. She had trouble doing the simplest of things like holding up her head and supporting her body. She smiled only occasionally. At six months old she wasn’t even trying to roll over or play with toys. At six and a half months old Melissa started having infantile spasm seizures, a few weeks later she had her first of many grand mall seizures. This was the beginning of our journey to find answers to help Melissa and give her hope for the future.

Our family would like to thank you for the prayers and thoughts after the very unexpected passing in May, of my father, Melissa’s grandfather, Dennis Storlie,of McHenry,Illinois. Thank you to everyone who gave a gift of money. The money was donated to Melissa’s trust and will be used for Melissa. He loved his grandchildren and had an extra special bond with Melissa. He was one of a few people who was able to take care of Melissa and he enjoyed his time with her so much. He always was there when ever we needed him in order to do treatment on Melissa or in order for me to take classes so I could help Melissa. He is, and will continue to be, greatly missed.
